Public figure, Mokah-Jasmine Johnson is a mother, successful entrepreneur, Executive Director and co-founder of the Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement, a nonprofit organization that advocates for racial and social justice. She’s a motivational speaker, author, and civil rights activist, holds a Master’s Degree in Education Media Design and Technology, and has over 20 years of experience in education and leadership. Mokah uses her voice and professional skills to advocate for equitable policy changes.
In addition, Mokah and her husband, Knowa D. Johnson, are the co-founders of United Group of Artists Entertainment. Together, they produce the Athens Hip-Hop Awards, the Athens MLK Day Parade & Music Fest, and more…
In 2016, Mokah-was called to activism in response to repeated allegations of discrimination by bars and business owners in downtown Athens. Under Mokah’s leadership, AADM has educated her community on local issues and mobilized them to advocate for policy reform. Through this organization, Mokah has led successful campaigns to end cash bail locally and for the anti-discrimination ordinance to be established in Athens-Clarke County. She was featured on Vice News for her activism work around voter awareness.
In 2018, Mokah published her first book, “Spirit of an Activist: Stop Sitting on the Sidelines,” and released her second book, “Let’s Talk about the School of Prison Pipeline,” a youth guide in 2021. Mokah wears many hats, but her overall goal is to inspire others to take action.
In 2020, as a first-time candidate, she was endorsed by President Obama and Stacy Abram, when Mokah ran for Georgia House District 117.

Public servant: served on the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections; Mayor Denson’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion task team; Co-chair the Athens-Clarke County Solicitor General’s pre-arrest diversion program. 2020-21 Served as the co-chair of the Police Oversight Task Force
